08:17 AM ET 11.21 | It didn't take USC redshirt freshman quarterback Max Wittek long to find the bulletin board. [Wittek] is confident the Trojans will take down No. 1 Notre Dame on Saturday night. In an interview on 710 ESPN Radio in Los Angeles, Wittek expressed confidence in his abilities -- and trust in head coach Lane Kiffin leading into the showdown against Notre Dame. "If he wants to air it out, let's air it out," Wittek said of Kiffin. "If he wants to pound it on the ground, let's do that. I'm gonna go out there, I'm gonna play within myself, within the system, and we're gonna win this ballgame." Smiling big in front of a pack of two dozen reporters after the Trojans' first practice of the week on Tuesday, Wittek also proclaimed himself ready to go.

Sounds like one of these FN poster types.....
but really, the kid never guaranteed a win.

Agree Joe. I didn't see a guaranteed win in the comments either.

The fact is the Trojan offense will be extremely limited without its four year starting QB Matt Barkley, damn shame too, I want to take down a USC team that is at full strength.

Nice of the mods to run the article about the U$C backup QB, and pair it with a pic of Manti.

What else is the kid supposed to say? Something like, 'No, I'm not ready. I've been playing my Xbox all season. We may as well just give up and forfeit the game.'

Journalism at its finest!

What part of we're gonna win this ballgame is not a guarantee.

The kid needs to be measured for a body bag ----- how dumb. You have a fired up Irish team already in a frenzy as they stand on the verge of the Championship Game and this freshman idiot pours on gasoline to fire them up some more ----

All ball players go into the game confident of victory. Especially qb's. Couldn't lead the team if they didn't feel that way. This is not a Joe Namath type guarantee.

I think the kid said exactly what he should have in this scenario. Why not believe your team can win, I did not see a guarantee but someone who wants to pump blood into himself and his teammates... jmo

before the season i said only either wvu or socal had a shot at dethroning the SEC.....i was clearly wrong in that prediction. nd wins. but could you imagine though if nd lost and the top 3 were once again sec teams. chances on alabama beating uga then playing uf for the nt? about the same as ala playing lsu in the rematch last year. so GO NOTRE DAME!!!!

Sounds more like preparing to win than guaranteeing to win. Don't think they should say we're preparing to play a good game and lose. JMO though.
