If ND keeps fielding winning teams in the major college sports then they will have plenty of conference options without giving up football independence. The media plus for most conferences is undeniable.

There is a reason that the ACC was willing to take in ND on their terms... desperation. The ACC may not be stable. I read a story where the B1G was looking at Georgia Tech and/or Virginia. Florida State is eyeballing the SEC. The Domers need to join the B1G before they get to 16 then all bets are off. They probably would prefer the Big 12 who isn't an equal-sharing league. But with the BTN the B1G is where they belong... stem cell research or not.
