08:15 AM ET 11.22 | The jackpot Hiroki Kuroda hit this week could have been even more significant. In choosing to sign a one-year, $15 million contract with the New York Yankees, [Kuroda] declined other teams' offers of more money and years, a source with knowledge of the negotiations told ESPNNewYork.com Wednesday. Besides the Yankees, the teams most interested in Kuroda were the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox. Kuroda also seriously considered returning to Japan. The Yankees received the edge because of Kuroda's comfort level in the Bronx. In his first season with the Yankees, Kuroda felt at home with his new teammates, the fans and the city. He was glad to take a one-year offer because he would like to finish his career in Japan, the source confirmed.

Smart Man, he pitched well for New York!!!!

A couple of weeks ago he wanted to pitch for the Dodgers because his family was there, but I guess he has found a northern girl to make him forget about his family.

dodgers offer him much cash flow to his bank except kuroda enjoys better the bronx and the nice weather than the heat at california,,

Took less? He made 10 million last year, signed for 15 million this year. That's a 33 percent increase over last year. Which is damn generous considering his age.
