08:21 AM ET 11.22 | Here comes another wrinkle in the conference realignment shuffle, which had officials from both San Diego State and Boise State reaffirming their allegiance to the Big East. [If] they ever changed their minds, the two schools have clauses in their contracts that would allow them to easily leave the Big East with varying financial penalties. Both schools' contracts with the Big East have stipulations that tie in geography. SDSU's contract states that come July 1, 2013, it is not obligated to stay in the league if the Big East does not have another football-playing institution "that is located west of the Rocky Mountains." ... Boise State's contract has a similar clause, but the geographical line in the sand has been drawn a bit farther east.
