Bissonnette 'carves' Bruins owner

08:27 AM ET 11.22 | The Coyotes' Paul Bissonnette, partly by virtue of his Twitter persona, comes off as an entertaining and interesting player, and parts of that personality were in full display during a Wednesday radio interview. "I just try to stay away from carving [up] anyone. Gary Bettman is just trying to do his job. I know that's against what we're about as far as the players are concerned," said Bissonnette. "But I know he's the messenger. ... I'm more upset with a guy like [Boston Bruins owner Jeremy] Jacobs. It just sounds so hypocritical for him to think the last CBA was so awful and how garbage it was, and then go out and sign three of his top guys right before the last one expired. If it was that bad, why rush to sign those guys? Why not wait until the new CBA comes?"

Jacobs didn't think you were smart enough to notice.

Easy to knock an owner when you don't have one of your own to answer to afterwards, eh Paulina?
This guy's schtick wore thin a long time ago. Makes a lot of negative comments about owners who, guess what, were convinced to give you a contract for a lot of money to stroke it and throw a few hooks a year. Give me a break. The biggest thing to notice out of this whole ordeal is that the REAL players, the guys who contribute to title-winning teams, the guys winning Harts and Vezinas, haven't said a bloody word about any of this. And they have the most to gain or lose.

Well, boys and girls, once again the players made a proposal with more concessions in it and once again, the infantile owners rejected it with their 'my way or the highway' attitude. Hockey was fun, hope you all enjoy whatever crappy product eventually results from all of this.

Well, there was that video of Celine dancing at the AMA's on Sunday. You can find that if you want. It hurt the eyes enough seeing it the first time.

OMG Bissonnette, THANK YOU. Finally, a player that opens up his mouth on the issue and doesnt sound like a complete moron.

Danny, what exactly, if anything, is the point of your senile rant? He pointed it out exactly as it is...Bettman is a mouthpiece for the owners and perhaps the players and media should bear that in mind when discussing the issue. Whether your on one side, or the other, or comfortably in the middle, its nice to see a player acknowledge the objective reality here.
He correctly pointed out that Jacobs, amongst others, were the prime contributors in prices escalating pre-lockout (hello WIDEMAN?), but his first action at the expiration was to vote a league wide shut down and to ask for his money back. Whether or not i agree with the owners stance is irrelevant to that fact that objectively this is not a way to act going into negotiations and it certainly damages his credibility when trying to blame the players for fiscal irresponsibility.

Wideman was worth 3.75 when he was with the Bruins..ever since he was exiled my GM has been trying to replace him..hello Craperle and that Phoenix dude..already forget his name...Wideman wasnt tHE sharpest in his own end but he was creative as hell in the offensive zone and the PP.....but alas....
The twitter dude is right.....you KNOW the owners were banking on salary roll-backs again..its obvious.
On another note i was surprised that all the free agents signed almost right away with the CBA expiring.......IF i was a player i wouldnt have signed with anyone until the new CBA came into effect...but thats just me.

You should refrain from commenting on a subject that you have zero knowledge of. You only wind up sounding like an assshat and a rump swab for the NHLPA, though that hardly leaves you alone on these threads.
As for your comment that Wideman was worth the money in Boston it is clear that you have never played or coached hockey in your life. Wideman parlayed one decent season into a $4 million dollar a year deal and proceeded to suck horrifically....at both ends of the ice.
To this schmuck Bissonette I say; "how bout you work on that .05925 point per game average and leave the labor negotiations to the folks who know how to read and write. Can't believe a guy who's talent dictates that he should be pushing a broom has anyone who would care what he says.

Speaking of rump swabs.
The Bruins have have a salary structure that spreads the money out fairly evenly amongst their players and have rarely if ever doled out mega contracts like the ones that Snider, Dolan, the Wild owners and a few other clueless idiots have. There is a reason why JJ is seating at the head of the table and it is because he is one of the smartest guys in the room.

Signing players to a system that is obviously going to change is poor foresight on the players and their agents, not the owners looking for a bargain. That's just good business, and no matter how hypocritical it looks on them they know they are the ones swinging the hammer here, and the players voicing their every opinion, no matter how stupid they sound (which they do 95% of the time). Roman Hamrlik had it right - as long as the deal is somewhat fair to the players, the game grows and the players, and their future contracts, are the biggest beneficiaries. The past two lockouts have proven that 110%.

Hate them, but gotta agree. Smart management isn't something guys like JJ and his hockey operations team should be belittled about. I've said time and again that I love how they've built that team, even if the next decade of it did come at the expense of the world's most loyal fanbase getting screwed by a drunken maggot.

You're just begging for attention arent you ?? How about you get Bettman's nut sack outta your mouth for a minute...its starting to affect your thinking...and yes i know tons about Boston hockey..more than your brain diseased head anyways.
Is that enough attention, bub ??

ALL owners that signed their players weeks or days before the CBA expired are guilty of negotiating in bad faith...did Bettman seriously think that the players would roll back their salaries again ?? NOT A CHANCE. Should the players have to bail the owners out from themselves....AGAIN ?? Lets hear it.

Is someone putting drugs into the water supply in the gta AGAIN???? Woah, Danny, there wasnt a single bargain that was signed this summer. The players cashed in because the owners were spending like drunken sailors, convinced that theyd get a rollback. Cocaine is a powerful drug.
