12:28 PM ET 11.22 | Minnesota Timberwolves have started the season well, especially considering how much the team has been troubled by injuries. The latest name on the list is Brandon Roy. To the surprise of most basketball fans, Roy decided to retire just before the opening of last year's training camp, due to chronic knee issues. Roy lacked cartilage between the bones of both his knees, and was told by doctors that if he continued playing he could end up being unable to walk. After receiving injections this summer, Roy was determined to give the NBA another shot and signed a two-year deal with the Timberwolves. The 28-year-old shooting guard has only played in five games this season, before being forced to lie down on the operating table once again. Roy received arthroscopic surgery on his right knee this Monday and is expected to remain out of action for at least a month.
