04:25 PM ET 11.23 | Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu participated in practice on Friday afternoon, according to a report by Kareem Copeland of NFL.com. It marked the first time in seven weeks that Polamalu was able to practice due to lingering issues with a strained right calf. Polamalu originally sustained the injury in the Steelers season opener against the Denver Broncos and re-aggravated the injury against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5. In total, Polamalu has played in just five quarters in the 2012 regular season. Polamalu was listed as limited in the Steelers practice on Friday. According to the report from Copeland, the veteran safety is not expected to play this weekend against the Cleveland Browns in Week 12.

Troy's been looking so happy on that sideline for a long time! My impression is he doesn't want to play anymore! AND, keep getting injured, which is his own fault in a manner of speaking, throwing himself all over. Time to get out and make space and money for someone else. Also Leftwich deliberately injured himself throwing himself down on his right shoulder! It's a pattern for this guy. Get rid of him and give some young men WHO REALLY WANT TO PLAY have a break. How much do the Steelers pay Leftwich and Troy for being injured every season??
