10:18 AM ET 11.24 | As if the Jets don't have enough problems after getting their season blown apart by the Patriots, Tim Tebow is now starring in Broken RibGate, the latest controversy in a season that has turned into complete train wreck. Rex Ryan came off as both irresponsible and compassionate -- only with the Jets can something like this happen -- when he decided to dress Tebow as his No. 2 quarterback on Thursday night against New England, but refused to play him. He said he made the decision after being told Tuesday night that an MRI and CAT scan of Tebow had revealed that the ribs the Jets thought were just bruised and sore after the game in Seattle on Nov. 11 and that he played with the following week in St. Louis, were indeed broken. Even so, the Jets medical staff cleared him to play Thanksgiving night, and Ryan dressed him instead of third-string quarterback Greg McElroy. Ryan told Tebow before the game that he would be used only in an emergency.

Ryan has taken a solid defensive oriented team that he took over for 5 years ago and has turned them into a laughingstock...the only success he's ever had were with Herm Edwards and Eric Mangini's players ...the idea that you dress a injured quarterback who can't throw even before he was hurt is a joke...I guess Greg McElroy (who had a pretty good career at Alabama) is still paying the price for his off the cuff comments from the end of the season last year...McElroy might be the best QB the Jets have and we'll never know about it...

It's too easy to make fun of the Jets anymore.

It's a damn shame, Sarge...

This coaching staff is done. What do they have to gain by not playing the kid?

Res Ryan doesn`t need anybody`s help to be the butt of jokes.

"Ryan told Tebow before the game that he would be used only in an emergency."

And Thursday night wasn't an emergency? I saw Fireman Ed in the stands without his fire helmet. How much worse does it get?

Hey, it wasn't that bad. At least Sanchez got himself a highlight that will define his career.

Yes. He has officially bottomed out.

It's a total joke OBD....I'll admit the first year or so I drank the Ryan Kool Aid....but after seeing how bad he and Tannenbaum have drafted ..this whole thing is crumbling....right about now..Bradway / Edwards...or Bradway / Mangini doesn't look as bad as it once did....this whole thing need to be blown up and start all over AGAIN....aaaarrrrggghhhhh!!!!

As easy as it is to bash Rex, Mr t has to have the majority of the blame The jets haven't drafted a legit pass rusher since john AbrahamAnd we haven't had a 'playmaker' on offense since Leon broke his legLots of blame, on everyone from Rex to Mr t, to mark, to tonyWhat I am most concerned with though is the future is looming bleak as who are the young core players we have to rebuild around?

Without a doubt....Tannenbaum should go back to accounting and salary cap structuring....The Jets need a real deal football guy to take reins.....

The whole debacle is a career killer for Rex. What owner would touch him after this mess. His career path is in softcore fetish video's for fat white guys.

What I don't get is ...why has this defensive coordinator Pettine (sic) gotten a free ride...you never hear anything about him...

But being easy doesn't make it fun though.

The Ribgate should be the end of Ryan, as much as it brings a tear to my eye though. The fact he had a backup QB who shouldn't have even been dressed due to injury shows complete incompetence at the HC level.
