Lockout forced Alain Vigneault to live with parents

10:33 AM ET 11.24 | Alain Vigneault, forced by the NHL lockout to move in with his parents in Gatineau, Que., chose a more advanced chapter in the Slacker Handbook -- inviting buddies over to hang out, watch TV, raid the fridge and maybe even sneak a beer. Had to be careful, though. His mom runs a tight ship, and as long as he is living under their roof, he must abide by their rules. "That's always been the case and that will never change with my mom," said the Vancouver Canucks head coach, making no attempt to hide the living conditions. "But I'm lucky because my mom and dad like my friends." He also has the perfect excuse for not going to work: With the NHL closed for repairs, there isn't any. He's finally out on his own again, and no, not because he scraped the cash together after getting lucky at bingo. The renovations on his own home are complete.

I'll wager his parents house is not too shabby. The article is pretty humourous. I'm sure Alain is enjoying spending time with his parents...as his own house was under renovations. Besides, he's used to small places after walking miles behind the bench each year.

Let's just hope he left an envelope on the dresser with a little something inside to help pay for the meals and beer.

His Mom still makes his bed?
Ha. I left at 17 Alain and never went back. And it wasnt to play puck. Worked two jobs and paid for my CC and got an associates. Took a year and a half off, worked as a tradesman, a bar back at night and a caddy on a country club during the weekends to save to go back to University for a bachelors. 1 of 5 kids, did what I had to do but never reshacked with Mom and Dad as they were scraping together to retire.
Get a grip, man!

It was a temporary arrangement while his house was being renovated. I think the story was meant to be light hearted, but you obviously didn't take it that way.

Yeah. I'm laughing picturing Vigneault growing a soul patch on his chin and playing xbox in the basement.

My mom liked my friends too... Even when they were passed out on the living room floor.
Teenage drinking was such fun.

This doesn't even qualify as a TMI story.......but it did make me smile......and when they say house, they are not talking your average 3 bedroom bungalow.

When I think about this ridiculous lockout......I can't help but think of Taylor swift's song."We are never ever getting back together".......I cannot stand Taylor Swift......her musical dribble is an embarrassment to real musicians.....however this song of hers seems appropriate.
