07:02 PM ET 11.24 | Ben Roethlisberger has officially been ruled out for the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 12 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, according to the Steelers' official site. Roethlisberger had already been ruled out as the team's starter, but the possibility was left open that he could be activated as the team's emergency quarterback, however unlikely that was. With Byron Leftwich already ruled out with a ribs injury, Charlie Batch will start at quarterback for the Steelers. The newly-acquire Brian Hoyer will be the team's backup quarterback.

Other than the 4 division leaders, Pittsburgh and Indy are the only AFC teams over .500.
C'mon, Dole, I'd give you even odds to beat the Browns under center for the Steelers. A good fake to Mendenhall and you could wok into the end zone.

Relax. The Steelers will win Sunday, and make the playoffs.
Besides, Ben may not have played anyway...he's a new dad!

Woking in the endzone is kind of like tailgating in the parking lot, only you get run over by football players rather than cars. That's why its safer to tailgate.
I do think Pittsburgh can beat out the Browns for the final spot but not sure they will win any games in the playoffs unless Roethlisberger gets healthy.

What's the over/under on Hoyer taking over?
I'm gonna go "middle of the third". And for bonus points, I'll pick "two fractured fingers on throwing hand" for Brittle Batch.
Don't get me wrong, I love the guy. He's not a whiner or anything. He just needs calcium supplements or something.

Hope not. I'd hate to see him get busted up his first game back. Let him sit the rest of the season, no need to risk a punctured lung or heart over a silly game.
