What will San Diego do with Danario Alexander in 2013?

01:05 AM ET 11.25 | Danario Alexander has been a stud since signing with the San Diego Chargers. He quickly has become a red zone threat and has become one of Philip Rivers' favorite targets. He is tearing it up and is making a push for a nice little pay raise at the end of the season. Now, will the Chargers be the team giving him that contract? Last season, the Chargers made a midseason signing that made the same type of impact. He helped the offense turn the corner and helped the team make a playoff push. He then got a big payday during the offseason. That player was Jared Gaither. Gaither came with a history of injury problems and with a questionable work ethic, but the team decided to take a chance on him. That chance has not paid off. Gaither has barely been on the field this season because of injuries and now has been lost for the rest of the season after being placed on IR. The Chargers might be shy to offer a contract this time around with Alexander. If the gamble with Gaither paid off, then there wouldn't be much hesitation, but Gaither has not done what the team had hoped.

Yeah--I think the suggestion is that Gaither turned out to be a bad deal, so they shouldn't sign Alexander. That doesn't make much sense, but it is only T & R--good sense is optional.

What are they going to do with their GM and Coach, that's the question?
