Jerry Reinsdorf's lost interest in the Bulls is taking a toll

07:20 AM ET 11.26 | Woody Johnson, the owner of the New York Jets, said publicly this year that winning the election for Mitt Romney was more important than running the Jets in 2012. Well Romney lost the election and the Keystone Cop Jets are making bad teams look like Super Bowl gods. The point is, when an owner clearly has lost interest in a team, the product thusly suffers. Jerry Reinsdorf has lost interest in the Bulls team without Derrick Rose, and his offseason spending plan was evidence of this. This isn't to say he's going to sell the Bulls, or that he'll never regain interest (who doesn't like owning a championship team?), but he's a business man and while his goofy footed practice this offseason put the Bulls here, he clearly thought they'd be here anyway, so he didn't spend the money needed to keep the team afloat. Dr. Frankenstein did a better job of constructing a monster out of dead limbs from corpses than the Bulls front office did replacing the Bench Mob.
