Peterson in Frazier's doghouse

08:01 AM ET 11.26 | Coming off a bye week, it didn't take long for things to get sideways for Minnesota on Sunday. [The] Vikings seemed unfit for the task from the beginning. Running back Adrian Peterson left the team hotel in a cab at 10 a.m., which was when players were supposed to be at the stadium. Coach Leslie Frazier said "there is something that Adrian and I need to talk about regarding getting to the stadium," and Peterson fumbled away his third carry of the game when Nick Roach punched the ball free. That set up the Bears' first touchdown of the game, after the Vikings had turned a Matt Forte fumble into an early field goal and forced a three-and-out. ... [Christian Ponder] and Peterson botched a handoff in the fourth quarter for another fumble.

There's a lot of competition in the NFC for those wild card slots. It's time to get your act together or start planning that golf vacation come January.

Peterson must be getting tired after carrying that whole team on his back all year.

You've got to admit, before the season started most of us thought this team would be 2-9 at this point.

Horrific! Cut him! He'll never play again!

The absence of Percy Harvin is a factor, too.

Word... but me thinks he'll outlast Frazier....

Harvin missing is bad for the offense, but it's also bad when you decide to try and let Christian Ponder win you the game. The Vikings had a 1st and goal yesterday and in 4 cracks, Peterson got the ball ONCE (an 8 yard run on 2nd down). Pathetic. They still had an outside shot at that point, but that sealed the game. The Vikings will do NOTHING as long as Ponder is playing. He's not even remotely a quality quarterback.

A big factor. Every time he touches the ball he's a threat to score.

Doe this mean he's not the best back "EVER"?

Harvin and Peterson are all they have...Ponder appears to be a problem...Harvin isn't a big guy and they use him a lot (running the ball etc.) he takes a beating and gets hurt a lot...don't get me wrong he's definitely an impact player when healthy...and Peterson be always had fumblitis...27 career fumbles...thank god he's as good as be is or we'd be talking Blair Thomas..

A player whose work ethic gets him back on the field after an ACL injury as quick as he has,and leads the league in rushing, should not be in anyone's doghouse. Most,if not all teams would take Peterson in a heartbeat.

November 26, 2012  10:56 AM ET

Give the guy a break. He was out drinking the night before and got in a little late is all. His punishment will be he only carries the ball 25 times next week.

No disputing what he has done....but you gotta make the team bus to the game.

Wow the vipers are out. Was he not one of the favorites until this game for Comeback Player of the Year? He has been playing great all season and had a bad game. It is not like he is Marc Sanchez or something...
