08:04 AM ET 11.26 | Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra has a favorite player -- and he's not shy about naming names. Heat guard Dwyane Wade called him the Mayor of South Florida. They are talking about veteran Heat forward Udonis Haslem, who became the franchise's all-time leading rebounder last week, surpassing [Alonzo Mourning]. ... "There's no hiding it. Everybody knows he's my favorite player and his story is one of the most special stories," Spoelstra said. "It's somebody who came from our own backyard in the toughest of communities in Miami. To not only make it out but then to be an absolute example for young kids to aspire to and to be the core value face of our franchise, it's pretty amazing."

Hopefully Haslem can transition that popularity into a front office gig when he's through playing.

QUOTE(#3):

And Spo is not considered a bad coach anymore. I remember how some posters believed that Spo was a bad coach. Spo never gave in to the superstars. He followed through w/ his game plan even if his superstars were doubting him.

are you going to change your mind about Dumbtoni?
I for one would like to change my perception of him. If he does well in Lakerland, I might finally call his name right. lol
