Warriors under-utilizing Barnes

08:05 AM ET 11.26 | After 14 games, the Warriors stand at 8-6 on the season -- an encouraging number considering they've played much of the season on the road and without Andrew Bogut, which isn't to say the rotation is perfect. Harrison Barnes needs the ball more. ... It's time Barnes' role in the offense increases. And not just give him the ball on the side. But the Warriors need to devise some things to take advantage of Barnes' strengths, which are finishing and mid-range looks. Barnes is the Warriors' best athlete. He finishes strong when he's near the basket. He's a solid mid-range shooter. He runs the break pretty well. Among the healthy regulars, his 47.5 field goal percentage is second only the Carl Landry. It just seems like he's not being maximized.

He's a rookie and they've only had 14 games. So, it seems like "InsideBayArea" is jumping the gun a bit. But with more playing time and Bogut coming back, seems like the Warriors are set to improve on their 8-6 record.

Bogut will not "come back" permanently. He'll continue to make guest appearances.

Hey GB. Good point about Thompson and Curry. Yeah, Barnes should get more time. We'll see what Jackson does. Warriors could do well this year.

Yes, I agree it's hard to include everyone. I think a lot of teams would like to have that problem :). We'll see what the Warriors can do this year.

I don't think the Barnes kid is worried too much about touches at this point, he seems to be a pretty meek kid who doesn't say much. Can't really see him demanding the ball at this point in his career. But with the growth of his confidence that could change, then this kid will evolve into a beast I think. He has always had a smooth pro game, Even in HS.
