08:21 AM ET 11.26 | After fielding one of the youngest teams in the nation this season, Jon Embree is out of work, thanks in large part to a one-win season. Embree said [athletic director Mike Bohn] told him at about 5:30 p.m. Embree had been planning to head out on the road for recruiting early this week. "He said he didn't feel the trajectory of the program was going in the right direction," Embree said. "I said, 'What direction was it going when I got hired?'" ... Embree met with his players at 6:30 p.m., followed by Bohn, who declined to comment further. "I'm disappointed," said Embree, who is owed a $1.5 million buyout. "I'm mad. I had trouble looking at those kids and seeing their reaction. It's hard. I loved those kids. I was trying to be an impact on their lives."

Quick yank...kind of like pulling the starting pitcher after a first inning with 3 runs because the fielders made mistakes...

He is not gonna get an instant 9-3 record.

Question:

Would a team like CU be included in the "Superconferences"?

They are much better than Kent State, Northern Illinois, Fresno State, etc, etc, etc.

Hard to include them, but then can not relugate them that low either. Maybe in between.

The man has a point IMO, but it's not his decision to make. Take your buyout, and go find a school that will give you another shot.

I know he is an alum...But he should have never taken that job...Career suicide at a dumpster fire..... And the AD needs to be fired for giving him only 2 years to fix that dumpster fire...I wouldnt take this job if i was a high school coach

Let John L do it for a year and save some $$$$

He would put the final nail in the coffin.

Historically they are better. The 90's??? The 70's??? They have the potential to be a great program. They should be able to recruit big burly white kids who love to hunt and fish from all over the country!!! :-)

The trajectory was going in the exact same direction. They hired him to change that trajectory. He did not. One year is ridiculous, though, considering Colorado is just a bad school in football and has been for almost it's whole history except when McCartney was there.
