03:31 PM ET 11.26 | Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher has denied a report that defensive coordinator Mark Stoops has interviewed for the vacant Kentucky Wildcats job. "He then says (paraphrasing here) that Mark deserves a job, would be happy for him if he gets the right opportunity, and that he'd like him to stay for as long as he likes."

UTk would probably do well with Stoops, the question is does Stoops want to compete with UK bball?

Question is why would he take the UK job...

That's a horrible job because you will NEVER be out of the shadow of basketball. Am I right 0-6?

Stoops has been a defensive coach for FBS schools ~16 years, and DC for 1/2 that. He's responsible for FSU's formidable D. Jimbo would miss him. If UK wants to give him a shot at heading up a program, good for the both of them.

He might want to wait to see who else comes calling...

Kentucky should look for a winning head coach from a non-AQ conference. This not the type of program that can afford to break in an up and coming assistant.

Exactly..From rumors... San Jose St HC has SEC ties.. I would try to snag one of those MAC coaches..they know UKs recruiting territory..

The B1G has used the MAC as a tryout ground for head coaches for a long time. Doesn't always work, but lots of them turn out to be very good.

No, he doesn't. He wants to remain our DC very badly!
