Should 6-7 Georgia Tech go bowling?

05:19 PM ET 11.26 | If Georgia Tech loses to heavy favorite Florida State in the ACC Championship Game, the Jackets would then be 6-7 and need a special waiver from the NCAA to go to a bowl, which would also crowd out a team that didn't finish with a losing record. However, Tech is only in the title game due to UNC being ineligible and Miami giving up its bid.

Just one more reason that about 10 bowl games need to just go away.

What'd be even more hilarious would be if GT were to somehow knock off FSU, and claim the ACC title at 7-6.

Their sixth win isn't even bowl eligible because it came against an FCS team - Presbyterian. This is a very stupid article.

Brace for it, Miami's self-imposed penalty takes them out of the ACC CG, so Tech is in it vs FSU. If a team plays for the ACC CG they are contractually obligated to fall no lower than the Sun Bowl...if they win, the Orange Bowl. Unbelievable, right? Lol
And get this, if by some crazy reason Tech beat FSU, they may very well be playing Kent State in the Orange Bowl....ROTFLMAO

One win against an FCS team does count toward bowl eligibility, actually.

I disagree. As a non-recovering CFB junkie, I like having a couple extra weeks of games to watch before the CBB season gets interesting. (Plus, I'm a Bengals fan, so most seasons I don't have much interest in the NFL playoffs.)

12-0 deal with it…

You're right, I did misread that rule.
I do think that Presbyterian really streches the idea of deserving opponent. 0-6 in their own FCS conference.
Tech still doesn't deserve to go to a bowl when they lose to FSU.

Why shouldn't they? A 6-7 UCLA went last season. They ended the regular season at 6-6 and that's what it takes. And that's the reason the dumbasses at the ncaa allowed one FCS win to count towards a bowl game. They sure didn't want a 5-7 team having to play in a bowl game, because there are too damn many games and not enuf teams to fill them.
They do need a bowl game that is desperate enuf to invite them though
