08:03 AM ET 11.27 | Titans coach Mike Munchak felt he needed a shake-up in Tennessee, which has led to quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains replacing Chris Palmer as offensive coordinator. Titans owner Bud Adams put everyone from the front office to the coaching staff to the players on notice in the wake of a 51-20 loss to the Bears on Nov. 4. Indications are the Palmer firing was Munchak's decision, however. According to sources familiar with the situation, Munchak considered making a change on the offensive side earlier in the season but decided against it, hoping the unit would improve. There are also indications that Munchak has no immediate plans to replace defensive coordinator Jerry Gray, whose unit is ranked 29th.

Palmer's coaching career has been on crash and burn since his ill-fated attempt at being the Browns head coach.
