08:15 AM ET 11.27 | Perhaps the biggest question this offseason pertains to the future of Josh Hamilton, whom many believe will be returning to Arlington. Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels reiterated his club's interest in retaining [Hamilton] and said the lines of communication remain open. He added that the market for the free agent slugger is "somewhat status quo" at the moment. "Mike (Moye, Hamilton's agent) and I have maintained dialogue and I think the way that we have chosen to proceed here is that we're not necessarily driving the timetable," Daniels said Monday. "There may come a time when we need to change that, but so far it's been fine." ... [Daniels] did say that his organization "would welcome Josh Hamilton back."

For reasonable money and years, sure, bring him back!

I kind of see that happening.

It is starting to look like that there is not as many interested parties out there for Hamilton as first reported and maybe the only club with money who will take the risk on him is the Rangers.

I'm sure there is somebody lying low and waiting to see what develops. Kind of like the Angels last year coming out of nowhere to sign Albert.

The winter meetings haven't even started yet, they're December 3rd - 6th so I would imagine things will heat up then just as they did last season with Pujols. He signed with the Angels December 8th and Fielder didn't sign until very late, January 24th. It might take a while for Hamilton given his personal challenges that hurt his value.

He should stick with Texas because it's probably the ideal place for Hamilton to remain in baseball in a competative situation, where they know his issues and where they'll best be able to help him. To me, it would be a shame if he went somewhere else and self-destructs because his support group in the new setting just couldn't get the job done. I know ultimately it's Hamilton's responsibility but if he could go it alone he'd never have had trouble to begin with.

If it's money he's looking for, he's probably gone, but he should stay in Texas and finish the Job the boys down there are trying to complete!!!

I see him staying with Texas as the most likely outcome.
Then again I didn't see anyone give Pujols a quarter billion dollars either.
