08:16 AM ET 11.27 | Instead of adding arms, Braves GM Frank Wren made it clear he was interested in acquiring outfielders. Two months later, the Braves are still in search of a center fielder and left fielder. But with the Winter Meetings set to begin in Nashville, Tenn., next Monday, Wren could soon gain more clarity about what his roster will look like next year. The tone and activity during this year's Meetings will be heavily influenced by free-agent outfielder B.J. Upton, who stands as the Braves' top target. ... [Two months ago], Upton seemed to be most interested in landing with the Phillies. But his interest in the Braves seemed to soar after he met with Wren, manager Fredi Gonzalez, former skipper Bobby Cox and others at Turner Field two weeks ago.

might be the braves, but i hope not. last thing that team needs is an 'uggla' contract for an OF spot.

Upton needs to consider which one of those teams I have a better chance of playing in the post season with during my time there, the question should be easy to answer Braves.

Upton is still under 30. It won't be an Uggla contract. But he is what he is - a .250 hitter with power and speed that whiffs a lot.

He is 3 years older and thought to be significantly more expensive.

After Bourn's terrible second half, I don't want him back. No excuse for a man with that much speed to ground out to first with a 3-1 count as many times as he did.

Atlanta would be a Good Fit, should push Braves closer to Da Nats!

Bourn is a better top of the order hitter by far, for the money just pay it.

Bourn is a Scott Boras client. That alone makes it extremely unlikely he will re-sign with Atlanta.

Upton has more power than Bourn, and is younger. I think he needs out of Tampa, and would fit in well in the Braves lineup.

wiseup:Upton could help add a little punch in the braves lineup annd offer some protection to top and middle of lineup, also some defense in outfield.

for upton higher expectations the future may turn to be not too bright in atlanta, then again give upton a lower offer that phillies can't match at all,,,
