Fifth year for Michigan QB

08:21 AM ET 11.27 | Though Michigan's season didn't end the way the Wolverines would have liked, there was one upside in getting a closer look at Devin Gardner, who seems to have settled any quarterback issue for next season. Now, it seems the Wolverines might have him for longer than that. U-M coach Brady Hoke expects Gardner to receive a medical redshirt for the 2010 season, in which he played just three games, and thus give him a fifth year in 2014. "I would expect that would go through," Hoke said Monday of the redshirt application. ... Gardner won't just be handed the job for 2013, as third-stringer Russell Bellomy will return, Hoke said, and highly touted true freshman Shane Morris will arrive in the fall.

Through that push-over conference.....I tend to agree.

Might start a trend of good coaches leaving the SEC and moving to non-competitive conferences that they can win and sustain success within.

Next on Brady Hokes agenda this years game did not count as he never shook Urban hand after the game.

Good news for Michigan. Gardner will get better with more than 3 weeks of practice at QB.

Great athlete who can pass.

Now just need to get some linemen that can block. :) Many O-line red shirts waiting in the wings . . . hopefully that will improve significantly over the next couple of years. Will most likely have to replace 4 O-linement next year if Lewan goes pro.

The "D" will continue to get better.

Hoke seemed totally unprepared for the possibility Shoe;ace would go down, then when he had to play Bellomy, he was turrible, now he's in full-blown panic mode....
