Of course, he also became the extremely rare coach to turn a conference champion into a winless operation. Now Southern Miss can either try and bring back a piece of the Larry Fedora magic (by pulling from Fedora's UNC coaching staff) or look elsewhere, such as former Ole Miss defensive coordinator Tyrone Nix, who also has USM ties.
