Healy vs. Masvidal expected at Strikeforce: Champions

03:53 PM ET 11.27 | According to various reports, Jorge Masvidal will fill in for the withdrawal of Strikeforce lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez at 'Strikeforce: Champions'. The event takes place on January 12th at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, OK. Melendez was originally slated to face Pat Healy, but withdrew due to injury. "I hear January is the last show, and then January isn't the last show," Masvidal said. "I don't know. I just hope that if it's completely and utterly dead, I want to go to Strikeforce's funeral because what's going on is not cool," Masvidal said about the future event. "I know a lot of fighters want to be on that January show, so if I get on it, I'll be very thankful."
