04:06 PM ET 11.27 | Pau Gasol certainly hasn't been shy about his desires to find himself in the new Los Angeles Lakers' scheme, and several are convinced that the only solution to his struggles is a trade to another team. However, the Lakers reportedly have no plans to trade Gasol until they see how he plays with injured point guard Steve Nash. Nash has only played in one full game this year after suffering a small fracture in his leg. Nash remains sidelined idefinitely.

How is he struggling? He isn't.
Everyone is sharing the ball more, Artest is averaging 14 PPG that's 7 points more than last year. He's taking those away from Gasol, it's that simple.
Too bad he's the guy most likely to be traded, you can't trade Kobe/Nash/Howard. Artest is ok for his money, nothing better out there right now. Gasol is a great PF, "bad" contract and not really needed.
No idea though who is going to be interested, Lakers should just keep him. Maybe start Jamison, let Gasol do the work with bench?

I just wonder how a 37 year with a bum wheel will do in this new up-tempo offense. Also, the weak bench will be a factor. One thing it will do is take the ball out of Kobe's hands quite a bit... that is good or bad depending how you feel about Kobe. Now, about these Amare for Pau rumors that you Laker fans are so excited about. What are you wanting... the Phoenix Suns-West? Problem is that those Suns never won anything and the players are several years older now. After watching D'Antoni's offense at Phoenix and NY, it looks to me like we have a Nash + a big man pick & roll with the rest being roll players. Shawn Marion did well because his skills limited him to shooting some kickout 3's and a few boards 'n dunks. But, Kobe Bryant is not a roll player... nor will he accept that roll. Kobe is a catch and shoot and/or drive to the hole dude and has never been in a pick 'n roll offense... though that is basic basketball and occurs in every NBA offense to some extent. Remember when Pau first came to the Lakers? He was a godsend and was what they needed... now he is expendable. I'm firmly on the side of Magic Johnson and believe that Buss-light has absolutely no clue what he is doing and the Lakers will pay for it with a very mediocre season.

Is the Lakers the only team in NBA???
i love Pau, when the Lakers got him, instant Championship, i will never forget that as a Lakers fan. It's unfortunate that they hire D'Antoni rather than Phil, whom knows how to use Gasol, and perfect in triangle. If D'Antoni system is the same, run and gun, Gasol cannot keep up to that. Then they will trade him. Then they will make play-offs, then everything is slow-down. Then they will miss Gasol, because he is got on half-court set.
Don't trade Gasol.

Couldn't agree more. If a coach can't figure out how to use Pau and Howard, they should be coach.

Not yet. He may still be able to salvage this season but he is definitely on the hot seat.

The Lakers were not built to run the Princeton... They are not built to run the Triangle... They have a better chance at playing "pick up" ball than they do some structured and restrictive offense that was previously mentions. D'Antoni is a better hire than Phil. The guys just better make sure they are in shape.
