04:42 PM ET 11.27 | There is some bad news for the Florida Gators. As they sit back and prepare for their BCS bowl game against a yet-to-be determined opponent, the team has learned that star linebacker Jelani Jenkins will not play in the Gators' bowl game. Jenkins will undergo surgery on a broken bone in his injured right foot. Recovery time for the injury is typically four to six weeks. He suffered the injury during the team's win over the Florida State Seminoles this past weekend. It is the second injury that has haunted Jenkins this season. He suffered a broken thumb earlier in the season that caused him to miss time. Jenkins is one of the most dynamic defenders in the nation. He is a redshirt junior with one year of eligibility remaining.

Nickel/dime package for most of the day. 2 LBs (max) on the field at any one time.

2009 MNC game rematch.
Would be a good game, I think. Losing Jenkins is never a good thing, but Antonio Morrison has done pretty well taking over for him when he's been out. You see that hit he put on EJ Saturday night? I understand EJ got over it OK, thankfully, but Morrison can deliver a shot.

Must watch games:
1. UGA/'Bama vs. ND in the champ.
2. FL vs. OU in the Sugar.
3. KState vs. Oregon in the Fiesta.
4. Stanford vs. Nebraska in the Rose
Head scratching mis-matches:
1. aTm vs. Michigan in Capital One
2. LSU/'Bama vs. TX in the Cotton
3. FSU vs. Rutgers in the Orange

The Orange has gotten such bad matchups recently, when was the last time they had a real blockbuster game?

There is probably some buzz for this coming out of Houston (proximity to BCS). Not much up here in N. Texas.
The question becomes how much appeal would a regional rivalry have on a national stage? It would be a defacto B12 conference game, a matchup we've seen every year for the past 100 years. It would be just about as interesting as tOSU and Michigan playing in a bowl. Folks in the North would watch but the rest of us ....meh.

I'm thinking what LUS is thinking. The different story lines would make any media outlet salivate. But I could see where true B12/Texas resident longtime CFB fans would be "meh".

Yeah I want to see something different ... it's the exhibition season. I'm not real excited about watching the same old thing I've seen for 50+ years during exhibition season. It would be the same if we were to play OU in a bowl game ... not as interesting as playing a ranked team we rarely face.
To be honest, aTm deserves better competition than a team ranked in the 20's. aTm knocked off the #1 team and I want to see if they can knock off another top 10 opponent.
Also, my best friend is an Aggie, my boss is an Aggie and many of my co-workers are Aggies. I have not heard one of my Aggie friends or co-workers talk about this. My best friend HATES Texas but playing us in a bowl is not even a topic of conversation. The only place I've heard or seen this is in the media and on this stupid site.
