Cincinnati Bearcats making serious push to join ACC

01:20 AM ET 11.28 | While the ACC filed a lawsuit against Maryland for leaving the conference, they may be getting an addition as the Cincinnati Bearcats are making a strong push to join the ACC. Should Cincinnati join, the ACC would get stronger in not only football but basketball as well. Usually when a school transfers conferences, one sport benefits heavily while the others just have more competition, not necessarily better competition. The Bearcats aren't known for their football team, but it's one that has pretty consistently made bowl games over the past few years. But the real addition to the ACC would be the Bearcats basketball team, as they routinely finish in the USA Today and AP Top 25 year after year. It's not a huge addition, should it happen, but as other conferences get stronger, adding Cincinnati to the ACC doesn't hurt.

I dunno. The ACC should take another shot at WVU first.

Love them Bearcats.....and there football team has been very tough the last 5 yrs.

And would be a great move for the BB team and would give them a big boost in recruiting since they would be playing the ACC teams .

Would be good for both UC and the ACC.

Cincinnati would need a big time college basketball coach if they are going to the ACC. That little Elf Mick Cronin is a small time hustler who projects a terrible image for the Bearcats. Get a good big time coach at Cincinnati and then talk ACC.

Stupid statement......Cronin has done pretty good at UC, and besides all coaches got to start somewhere and make a name for themselfs to become the "Big time Coach" you invision.

ACC is irrelevant in Football so Cincinnati would fit it well with Pitt, Syracuse, etc.

I think that ship has sailed. Louisville was the best choice of the remaining Big East teams.

With the current BCS contract expiring soon, teams left in the Big East are in trouble.
