Tomlin demotes Mendenhall and Wallace

08:02 AM ET 11.28 | Mike Tomlin's running back carousel continues to spin in Pittsburgh. Jonathan Dwyer, one of four backs who were benched only to be reinserted during a fumble-filled loss in Cleveland, will start Sunday in Baltimore and get the majority of the work, Tomlin said Tuesday. Tomlin also sent not-subtle messages to running back Rashard Mendenhall and wide receiver Mike Wallace by demoting them on the depth chart. Mendenhall is now the No. 3 back, behind Dwyer and Redman, and Wallace is a co-starter with Emmanuel Sanders. ... Unless there is a further shuffling, Mendenhall -- in the final year of his contract -- might not regain the starting job he held for three seasons before badly injuring his right knee against Cleveland on Jan. 1.

He should demote Charlie Batch.

He needs to demote the medical team until he can find some hack who will clear Big Ben to play. You know, like Dr. Nick Riviera.

I guess the next-man-up concept isn't working in Pittsburgh either.

" Wallace is a co-starter with Emmanuel Sanders"
That would mean 12 men lined up coach. You might want to rethink that. And stop being a wussy about it. It is all just window dressing anyways. co-? really?

Both will not be Steelers next year. Anyone want a fast WR with poor hands who wants Fitzgerald money or he will sit out training camp and preseason? Or a running back with bad wheels who tends to fumble ( like in the Super Bowl) Welcome to them!

Wallace had bad hands at Ole Miss too... It surprised me to see him do this well in the NFL.

Trade Wallace on draft day to a team like the Skins or Rams and be done with his bad hands already...

The Steelers are spinning out of control......and wasn't Wallace a hold-out at the beginning of the year.......demanding a new contract because last year he was there top receiver.

Wow! Another observation of the Steelers from the Hilbilly - shocker!
Fact is, if Ben wasn't hurt they would be 8-3 right now and head to Baltimore for the AFC North title this Sunday. But he is and they are not. Spinning out of control? When the Bungles lose to the Chargers on Sunday it will start the typical Marvin Lewis late season swoon and another 7-9 record in the Jungle.

I like this guy. He takes action. He makes you play or else. Not like McCarthy who thinks all his promissing 4,5,6 draft picks can and should play.
The Steelers are a team with injury issues. The Packers also have injuries and a team full of lousy football players, thats the difference. You can get over the injuries.

Uh, um....okay Mr. High School English Teacher. Believe whatever you want. If he's healthy they beat the Ravens and Browns. Doesn't matter now, they have five games to get back into the playoff chase.

Healthy Ben does not = win against the Ravens.
Spinning out of control? Not too far off. This team should have destroyed the Browns even with Batch in. This team does not have the swagger of a team 2 years removed from a SB appearance and looks like they'd lose their first road playoff game if they were lucky enough to snag the wild card. Tomlin's ego cost them the game last week. These last two weeks have shown how badly they've botched the back up QB situation. I miss hockey so much. It pains me to be on here talking about football.
