08:07 AM ET 11.28 | In terms of breaking up Chicago's "Bench Mob," this season hasn't gone according to plan. [Through] the first 13 games, the comparison of stats and past performance, hasn't added up to a smooth transition on the court for the Bulls' reserves. And even worse, it looks like Tom Thibodeau has lost confidence in his second unit, playing his veteran starters way too many minutes. Luol Deng and Joakim Noah rank first and second in the league in average minutes played. Deng played 47 minutes in the nightmarish loss to Milwaukee, getting a one minute break midway through the second quarter, even though the Bulls were way in front most of the night. Right now, Thibodeau basically has an 8-man rotation.

Even when Rose comes back, the bench will STILL be an issue.

Bottom line.....Paxton f'ed up when he exploded last year's bench. Asik's departure was pretty much unavoidable......but letting Watson, Brewer and Korver slip away without even so much as getting them re-signed and packaged in trades....well that was just plain STUPID!

And he's gonna have to re-think his rotation, or he'll wear a couple of his starters (Deng/Noah) out.

Bottom line.....some of those bench players need to be released in favor of a couple or three high profiled and still available free agents that are out there.
