08:12 AM ET 11.28 | Minnesota's pursuit of starting pitching might lead it down a familiar road this offseason. The Twins have had conversations with [Francisco Liriano's] representatives, according to a source with knowledge of the talks, and the sides are expected to meet next week at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville during baseball's annual winter meetings. Twins General Manager Terry Ryan, when asked on Tuesday about their interest in Liriano, said: "I haven't spoken on the record about anyone we are interested in. Everyone knows we are looking for starting pitching." Liriano, 29, had one of his worst years in the majors last season, going 3-10 with a 5.31 ERA with the Twins before being dealt to the White Sox on July 28.

It doesn't really matter who you get to help in your rotation Mr. GM for at least the next three or more years you will be battling the Royals to stay out of the basement in your division.

This guy had one fabulous year, and has been worse than ordinary since then. I wonder of a decent pitching coach could help him.

francisco liriano would need to move either to the pirates team, or to the yankees franchise where the fans demands and owners expectations are tough to achieve!!!!!

What does that even mean?

Twins need a No. 1 starter badly. And a No. 2 starter. And a No. 3 starter.

And Liriano is none of those.
