08:15 AM ET 11.28 | What, you thought he wouldn't weigh in? Former Auburn and NBA star Charles Barkley has never been short of opinions. So it should be no surprise he has thrown in his two cents on Auburn's search for a new football coach. Barkley told NBC 38's Christina Chambers on Tuesday he is pushing for former Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino. "I understand he has some baggage but he's a hell of a coach, and we shouldn't try to play judge and jury and moral judge. He made a mistake, he admitted to his mistake, we have to hire a guy who we know can win, and that's him," Barkley told NBC 38. "It's unfortunate about what happened to (former coach Gene) Chizik, but it's time for Auburn to move on," he said.

Charles Barkley is a know nothing fat load. Why people continue to validate him by seeking his eigthwitted opinion is beyond me.

There is a large group that actually like the "politically uncorrect" people that speak their mind.

"I understand he has some baggage..."

You think, Chuck?

November 28, 2012  09:20 AM ET

He made a lot of auburn fans mad earlier this year when he said something along the lines of this....

"Auburn fans need to stop wanting the program to be on the same level of Alabama's. We're never going to have the tradition that Alabama has. We're never going to knock them out of being THE state university. We need to worry about having a winning program that competes for the SEC championship every now and then, but we cannot compete against Alabama on a yearly basis."

Something along those lines. He made a lot of people mad when he said it and, of course, Alabama fans crowed about it.

I don't have a problem with someone speaking their mind as long as its not an idiot's mind dictating what's being spoken. Charles knows nothing about anything yet he continues to flap his large lips. He's like Joe The Plumber in technicolor.

You owe svt a quarter.

Aubie's image is already in the gutter-Petrino would magnify the situation.
