08:19 AM ET 11.28 | Now, many wonder: Would he leave? LSU Coach Les Miles has an offer from Arkansas for the head football coaching job, a source close to LSU confirmed to the Times-Picayune/NOLA.com Tuesday. The offer is reportedly for five years and $27.5 million. "They made a serious offer," the source said "(Athletic Director) Joe (Alleva) is meeting with his (Miles') agent and the discussion is ongoing." Miles, 59, is set to meet with the media at a previously scheduled 2 p.m. press conference Wednesday to discuss the Arkansas game and the Tigers' bowl possibilities. LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette declined to comment and said Miles, was out of town recruiting. His LSU team defeated Arkansas 20-13 in the regular season finale Friday.

CFB is nuts.

That's a serious offer, but it's no "8 year, 51 million plus a small ownership in the Cleveland Browns" that some station out of Memphis has said is the offer Gruden has in hand from UTK.

The Hat is merely engaging in a case of Beamerball, contract style. Float a rumor that he might look elsewhere, and he ends up with a pay raise and/or a contract extension.

NO NO NO!!! UTk doesn't want to be competing with LSU for coaching jobs.

I like the thought that UTk is the most attractive job out there, if LUS or god help us UTx get in the market for a coach well then UTk is sunk.

$27 million is a living wage and if a guy is smart and watches his spending he should be able to make do with that salary and scrape by in life.

I swear my youngest daughter couldn't get by on $27 million when she was in college.

He'll use this to get more money out of LSU, but he is not going to leave LSU, in my opinion....

This guy is so flakey you cannot be certain what he will do

I really don't give a crap what Miles does, just don't come out West and coach in the 12 PAC. He is too much of a "flake" IMO!!!!
