01:01 PM ET 11.28 | It might be too late to save their season, but the Dallas Cowboys are hoping to get their starting running back this weekend against the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles. DeMarco Murray is back at practice on Wednesday, according to a tweet from ESPNDalls.com reporter Calvin Watkins. The Cowboys (5-6) have struggled to run the ball without Murray, who hasn't played since an Oct. 14 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The starter in his place, Felix Jones, was incidentally held out of Wednesday's practice, according to Watkins. Murray has been out with an ankle injury and his return this week is up in the air. He hasn't been ruled out, and the fact that he's practicing has to be taken as a good sign.

Big deal. DeMarco Murray practicing. This will be followed at some point by DeMarco Murray playing in a game. Which will result in him being injured again and not playing for the rest of the season. At which point, he will begin practicing again in preparation for next season. Which will result in him being injured yet again. Repeat...ad nauseum.

Why did I draft this fragile RB in fantasy? He had one OK game and then got hurt all year. Scrub...

exactly!!!! this guy is NEVER going to play a full season - period. that's why he was available for dallas to take.... and take the bait JJ did. many teams passed on this guy for this exact reason. leave it to JJ to place our running game in the hands of an injury prone player.

And despite all the misery in Dallas, the Cowboys are only 2 games out of the division lead with 5 games left to play and the Giants facing a tough schedule.

Yeah, I know. The only thing keeping Dallas out of the basement is the Eagles.

wouldn't bet on dallas to win sunday against philly. they should, but with this crew you never know.... even against the weaker teams.

two games out of the division lead might as well be 5 games. dallas has NO chance of post season play. they won't get past the saints, bengals, skins or even steelers if ben is back. this team is a total mess from top to bottom. best thing that happens to dallas is they lose out and JJ grows some new brain cells and finally hires a real HC.
