08:03 AM ET 11.29 | All that interest may yet pay off in Toronto. Bryan Colangelo and the Raptors have courted Mickael Pietrus for years and they might finally have reeled him in. ESPN first reported the Raptors had renewed the pursuit of the veteran swingman and team president/general manager Bryan Colangelo said the Raptors are "exploring options to get better at the wing given our injuries." Pietrus is a career 36% shooter from three and has always been a solid defender. Colangelo considered signing Pietrus as a free agent back in 2007, but opted instead for Jason Kapono. The team nearly traded for him last season, but weren't happy about the results of his physical. Landry Fields and Alan Anderson remain sidelined due to injury.

There's a reason they remain Raptors...they're good at outbidding other teams for mid level talent...

Makes little difference for the Raptors. This roster is horrid.
The only mission this year is:
A) get LOTS of minutes for Valenciunas, Ross and DeRozan. These 3 are the only foundation they have. I hope they end up last to snare a stud to add to this promissing trio.
B) GET RID OF BARGNANI. This guy is the Tin Man of the NBA. No heart. I have never seen a softer 7-footer. He is allergic to contact and rebounding and sits outside the arc to bomb away 3's like his next meal depends on it. Can't play a lick of defense and has never hit any clutch shots despite being the go-to guy in crunch time the last 2 seasons. Other than that - he is solid.

You make some good points.
The problem with Bargnani is that he isn't good enough to just throw away.
He shows you enough to keep interest.
