Doc: 'That stuff's not toughness,' 'we're soft'

08:06 AM ET 11.29 | The Nets-Celtics skirmish may have looked like something it wasn't Wednesday night. [Boston] lacks a certain toughness that can no longer be ignored. "If I'm Brooklyn and the league, you've got to think we're pretty soft the way we're playing," Rivers said. "We're a soft team right now; we have no toughness." And for those who want to throw Rajon Rondo's incident -- lead official James Capers referred to it as a fight -- with Kris Humphries into the category of exuded toughness, Rivers isn't trying to hear that. Especially when he knows that there's a chance that it will likely cost Rondo at least one game via suspension. "That stuff's not toughness," Rivers said. "All that stuff, that's not toughness."

that wasnt really a bad foul by Kris Humphries. Rondo just got mad because he got blocked hard by Humphries earlier in the game

Agreed.
And why was Wallace ejected but once again Stern's boy KG get's a pass again!
Man this guy never faces penalties for anything he does.
I have yet to see this punk suspended or rejected, Wallace was trying to look out for Hump, KG pushes him so he pushed back and Wallace gets the punishment while KG gets a slap on the wrist once again.
These refs really do the most terrible officiating!

I think you need to watch the video again.... Yes, Rondo started it. Yes, Humphries probably shouldnt have put a little more effort into pushing KG down while he was off balance. Wallace, my friend, looked like a maniac going into the skirmish. Yes, Wallace was aggressive and had no reason to attack KG. KG was still partially getting up when Wallace got to him. If you're solely a Nets fan, then I get it, your point about Wallace being ejected is moot.... Homerism.

You know am a heat fan, am calling it how I see it.
Homerism?
KG falling down?
THey both should be ejected if they were in a altercation right?
Just like Rondo & Humphries.
Am not hearing that crap from you of all people....
KG never gets punished I've seen this guy hit guys below the waist and remain in the freaking game, no suspension no thing.
He is Stern's boy clearly.

yep.... I've seen all the games and Yes PP is showing that he's been in the league, what 15 or 16 yrs.... Same thing just happened about 2 games ago against OKC.... One of their guards did the same thing PP went one way and the guard went around him... I def winced. But suffering from a little homerism here, Joe Johnson couldn't do that to PP in his prime.... Let alone wear his jock-strap. I hope to see PP retire in the very near future b/c we all saw how Jordan looked towards the end of his multiple retirements. I want people to remember PP as one of the finest small forwards to ever play the game. He'll be a first ballot entry HOF.

Agree.
Johnson isn't on PP level, which made it even more classic.
PP is a HOFer no doubt about it, Johnson is no true #1, as Pierce has been.
Johnson with a deep suns team couldn't get to the finals and his hawks are always remembered for losing in the first or second round so yea advantage PP.
But advantage last night, JJ.

Apple wholeheartedly agree with everything you said here, particularly about PP being on of the finest small forwards to play the game. Yes Legend, Pierce, & Reggie represented the postion to the fullest!

I don't think the playoffs is guranteed for them either... an injury to Pierce or Garnett and they're right back to lottery land...

Celtics need to make a trade.
That's what am saying no guarantee they make it, especially far.
The nets, knicks, yes the heat too all playing better than them.
The bucks play harder than them too.

Actually KG and Wallace both received Techs for pushing each other. Wallace was ejected only because he had received a Tech earlier in the game. The Refs mad the right call by giving both players a T.

All that is true and JJ will never be on his level but it still was vicious lol.
