No Vick in Week 13

11:45 AM ET 11.29 | Michael Vick failed a test Thursday to see whether he'd be able to play in the Philadelphia Eagles' game against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, according to Reuben Frank of CSN Philly, which means Nick Foles will start a third consecutive game with Vick sidelined with a concussion. Vick is no closer to passing the test this week than he was last week. He was expected to play this week after being called "close" to passing last Saturday, but he apparently has not progressed as he tries to recover from the head injury. The quarterback will need to be cleared by an NFL-approved doctor as well as the Eagles' doctor before being allowed to play due to the league's concussion protocol. It's not clear whether the Eagles will continue to start Foles if and when Vick is cleared to play.

It should be obvious that even when healthy, Vick did not do a good job this year. It's time for the Eagles to move on without him and look to someone else for the future. They should start Foles for the rest of the season and determine if they want to go with him or get a new QB through the draft or free agency.

Nor was there in any of the previous weeks this year.

Agreed. Some other desperate team will take the Vick albatross off of Philly's roster and learn that he can't read defenses. Vick just isn't smart enough to be a top QB.

I wonder if this is just a ploy to have people thinking: If we keep Reid around for 1 more year maybe the "Dream Team" will show up. Philadelphia should have gotten rid of Reid 4 years ago and if they had they would not have the burden of a huge Vick salary.
It wouldn't matter if he did come back. Philadelphia's major offensive threat DeSean Jackson is out for the season, they have been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

Now he can spend more time helping out at the local animal shelter. I hope he remembers to bring his car battery and jumper cables ...

The only way to get Vick up for a Game is to send Lindsey Lohan to Philadephia, of course it will cost The Eagles a Third round draft pick, but she will beat Michael into Shape!!!

They should continue to start Foles. I like the kid............seems to have a good arm. He's very inexperienced but the Eagles year is over as far as the post-season is concerned and continuing to get all the reps in practice and game experience can do nothing but help. I think Vick may be done.

Keep starting Foles. The new coach next year will want the kid to have as much experience under his belt as possible.
