Raiders tell McClain to stay away

04:45 PM ET 11.29 | A day after Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain posted on Facebook that he was no longer with the team and the Raiders subsequent denial, the team has reportedly told the 2010 first-round draft pick not to show at Thursday's practice. The Oakland Tribune's Jerry McDonald reports that head coach Dennis Allen was resistant to say why exactly McClain was told not to appear at practice. The starting middle linebacker had posted on his Facebook Wednesday that he was gladly no longer with the Raiders on Wednesday, but then he deleted that post. Oakland soon after said he was still part of their 53-man roster, though it's clear he did something to put his status into question.

Does anyone know what the details are on this situation? This guy showed a lot of promise coming out of college, and if I'm not mistaken, was a first-round draft pick.

He hasn't done anything since then though. In 41 career games with Oakland, McClain has 6?? sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, and no fumble recoveries.

I believe this is the third guy this year to just walk away. Beginning to make a statement about the shape of the league.

He didn't walk away, he was released. And for good reason.
