Don't care. I never thought she was adept in the first place. How many times do we have to hear Mickelson described as "lefty" as if it is some cute euphemism? I'd rather hear a classy pro like Dotty Pepper in the booth anyday.

I would say to the Golf Channel: wake up and smell the hummus.

Any bets as to whether or not she sticks her foot in it again?

January 23, 2008  08:48 AM ET

She was awful long before the 'Tiger' comments.

Had anyone ever watched or even heard of the Golf Channel before all of this?

Honestly, there may be a thousand or so people watching at any given moment.

Maybe.

Kelly is an extremely Well-informed golf broadcaster. Those who don't think so probably are not avid golfers.

The golf channel pulls a lot of us who LIVE FOR GOLF.

Don't get me wrong but there's only so much you can say about golf and I didn't even know there was a channel for golf.
Either before anyone goes on the attack, I do watch some golf events, especially the majors so I'm a fan, not a big one, but one nonetheless.

Move on. No one cares.Just more BS media hype.

January 23, 2008  09:58 PM ET

hey, I watch the Golf Channel! I also watch the Watch Ice Melt Channel and the Watch Paint Dry Channel.

Can we get to the real issue...women should NEVER be allowed to broadcast men's sports.

January 24, 2008  04:03 PM ET

forget about it,Tiger doesn't even care!!! The only one who was upset was the Rev. Al Sharpton who thought Kelly Tilghman was a man.

January 24, 2008  11:00 PM ET

I think we all owe a great thank you to Tiger Woods for standing up to the likes of Al Sharpton. If not for Mr. woods in my opinion a very talented golf broadcaster would of lost her job. Tiger should of done the same for Fuzzy Zoeller who never meant to hurt any one. Fuzzy apologized and should of been forgiven by Tiger. The golf channel does a great job of covering the world of golf .

The racists make it racist. There have been many more whites lynched than blacks throughout history and I don't take offense to someone using the term, "lynch". I think it depends on the intent of the statement and I don't think Kelly had any intent. or even considered, her statement being racial.

Of course no one has though Tilgman meant any harm by her comments. The real beef people have with her is that in trying to be cute and sound clever she says adolescent things. I think women have a place in the broadcast booth--just not that one. I think Laura Baugh would be a good choice--she is incredibly attractive and knows what she's talking about. How about Michelle Wie... oh, no sorry... the announcer should have at least won something before.
