Could Clippers lure Phil Jackson?

08:13 AM ET 11.30 | Dare to dream, Clippers fans. For all the reasons this could never happen -- and there are many -- there's at least one factor that makes the idea of Phil Jackson leaving retirement to lead Los Angeles' other NBA team worth pondering. Vengeance. Yes, Vinny Del Negro still has the job, having coached the Clippers to a respectable 9-6 record after snapping a four-game losing streak against Minnesota on Wednesday night. ... The Clippers also would get a head coach capable of taking their promising parts and turning them into the best team in the West. ... Revenge, ego, success, money, glory and praise and more revenge -- that's the mix the Clippers offer. Did I say it was farfetched? Perhaps. But it's also a combination that sounds made for Phil Jackson.

You hit the nail on the head. Phil's a meditator so it'll be hard for him to work for someone like Sterlin who thinks less of women and minorities. But Phil may take up the job in hopes of changing Stern's perception and maybe bringing some respect to the Clipper's front office.

But for the basketball reasons and convenience - yes. It will be quite thrilling. Especially if Clips stick it to the Lakers under Phil Jackson. Laker fans will go bizzack like their mother switched on them.

Here's some education for all you Kobe Homers with thoughts of him being the in the discussion for greatest of all time, or for that matter greatest Laker of all time....neither applies to his ****.

Kareem 1st 10 hall of fame years. 28.6, 14.8, 4.5, 10x AS, 2 Finals, 1 ring, 1 Finals MVP, 2 Scoring titles, 1 rebounding title, 5 league MVP.

Kareem after 30, 9 yr 2nd hall of fame years. 22.9, 8.4, 3.1, 9 AS, 8 Finals, 5 rings, 1 Finals MVP, 1 league MVP

Kareem 14 yr Lakers career, 22.1, 9.4, 3.3, 25, 256 pts, 3 league MVP, 1 Finals MVP, 1 Scoring
title, 1 rebounding title, 5 rings, 14 AS.......this pretty much spells it out for ya.

Kobe's 17 yr Lakers career 25.4, 5.3, 4.7, 29,900 pts, 1 league MVP, 2 Finals MVP, 2 Scoring titles, 5 rings, 14 AS.

*Kobe has played three more Lakers yrs than Kareem. We all know 1 of those Finals MVP's should have Pau Gasol's.

Kobe is not a greater Laker than Kareem or Magic in most people's opinion. The homers only have difficulty with accepting reality.......makes sense!

There may be some discussion re: Kareem and Magic from a basketball only perspective. But, when looking at basketball, community relations and just being an overall nice guy...Magic is the greatest Laker......PERIOD.

I would agree with that.......I however believe that Mike & Kareem are 1 & 1A GOATS and its not close with anyone else.

These two had signature moves and had an entire sport make rules changes because of their greatness. Kareem...the Dunk being outlawed, the Sky Hook, Mike.......the Handcheck being outlawed, the Fadeway Jumpshot (whick Kobe copied).

Their greatness was a once in a lifetime thing Skyhook, and everything Mike did!
