Kent State can knock Oklahoma from Orange Bowl

08:19 AM ET 11.30 | Generally, it's the WAC that crashes the party, but this year has been kind to the Mid-American Conference. Now, due to a quirky season, a weak Big East, relaxed access clauses and the play of two nationally ranked, 11-1 teams at Kent State and NIU, the league is on the verge of busting the BCS. Kent State and NIU play Friday here at Ford Field in the MAC championship game. If Kent State wins, it has a legitimate chance at an Orange Bowl bid. The Golden Flashes are currently 17th in the BCS standings and need only to get into the top 16 and finish ahead of an automatic qualifying conference champion, in this case the Big East, whose champion (Louisville) isn't ranked at all. Doing so would knock out a power program, likely Oklahoma.

Auto Qualifier policy sucks. If you can't get in by your record/ranking, then should you be in?

(I'm looking at you Big Least)

I believe it has been the MWC that has crashed the party, not the WAC.

If it happens, maybe the land thieves and the loser of the SEC CG can meet somewhere in a quasi BCS game.

El Oh El.I believe if OU wins the conference though this is all moot. Of course for that to happen OU must beat TCU and Tx must beat KSU in Manhattan and stop a 4 game losing streak to them. Ha ha ha ha ha .....man OU, you screuwed

If you use the WVa game as a gauge, froggies have a good shot at the land theives. But, TCU has stunk it up at home this year.

The aggies would throw a fit if they get bumped by the land thieves and the SEC CG loser.

Though "The Flash" (Dri) is a human highlight film, BGU doesn't stack up so well against prospective BCS Bowl opponents, FSU or... GT. Anyone care to post a high level match up and argument to the contrary?

May have been too hasty. Did you mean the actual Cotton Bowl or the game called the Cotton Bowl played at Jerry's world.

Nah. Wouldn't be much of a big deal. The whinyorange don't want to face us, anyway.

Gotta earn your place in the league, newbs. You take what you get and you don't throw a fit.
