09:24 AM ET 12.01 | Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel made the media rounds Friday doing five national radio interviews. Manziel's second appearance of the day came on The Dan Patrick Show where he was asked about a host of topics including how he prepared before upsetting No. 1 Alabama in early November. Manziel watched the movie "300" on the way to the game, getting ready to take down the "immovable force" that was the Crimson Tide.

I really like this kid "Johnny Manziel" and what he did to Bama. Texas A&M had over 410 total yards against Bama's defense. Johnny and the QB from Oregon (Mariota) are going to be fun to watch, for at least the next couple of years, as they are both freshman.

And the legend of Johnny Football grows.
But inquiring minds want to know, what did he have for breakfast? Did he take a crap before the game or after the game?
12-0 deal with it…

Harley luv ya man. Assume you do know that movie was a highly fictional account of an event that historians have long since debunked. Lots of BS.

He envisioned himself as Xerces and Bama as the Spartans?!?! Word of advice, Johnny, keep these sort of things to yourself.

Interesting that the only "big" school that offered early was Oregon. They'd have had both but a late offer from Aggie is why he ended up there. Said he went to a camp at TCU while in HS and couldn't get their attention.
Recruiting really is a crap shoot at times. They can't measure the "innards" as we like to call it here in the sticks.

DC, I agree that "Recruiting can be a crap shoot at times", but come on, Johnny Manziel was born in Tyler, Texas and played HS football in Texas. It makes one wonder, if the Longhorns made a serious pitch for him??

Yes, it was a stirring fight. I was on the cliff top watching it unfold. Couldn't hear any distinct words tho.

I don't think any "big" school in Texas made a serious pitch for him until Aggie came in at the last minute.
I was watching the Dave Campbell's Friday night show last night. Had highlights of all the playoff games and I came to one conclusion. I remember seeing Manziel on the show a couple of years ago while playing at Kerrville Tivy. He was good but he didn't stand out any more than others did that year. There were so many good looking and talented kids last night, how can you tell which ones to offer to and which ones to pass on.
Some kids play in lower divisions but can make the transition but others can i.e. Dickerson, Peterson, Colt McCoy and Pachall was on his way til he fell off the wagon. Others play in larger divisions but don't have the "it" factor. But they still look damned ready for the next level.

I think the results say they have definitely missed the last several years. Proof is in the pudding.
They did pretty good before that with Vince Young and Colt McCoy. I saw Case McCoy and Pachall both play in person here in HS. I said then Case wasn't any Colt and I'd take Pachall over him...but Case had the last name. Case also had a better team around him which made him look good. Pachall's team wasn't very good but you could tell he had it.
As it turns out, neither are doing very well. One stinks on the field, the other one can't even get on it right now.
