12:33 PM ET 12.01 | A horrible tragedy struck the Kansas City Chiefs organization on Saturday morning when 25-year-old linebacker Jovan Belcher fatally shot his girlfriend at their home before traveling to the Chiefs facility where he took his own life in the parking lot in front of head coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Scott Pioli. While the tragedy has left the Chiefs organization scrambling to organize meetings and prepare for tomorrow's game as they cooperate with police, many are left wondering whether it would be in the league's best interest to cancel or postpone the game. As of now, the game will go as planned. NFL officials informed the Carolina Panthers to continue their flight to Kansas City as planned, per Panthers interim general manager Brandon Beane. The team is scheduled to depart at 1:15 p.m. ET.

They were probably going to cancel it before any of this happened. Nobody wants to watch these two teams play right now.

This game could be cancelled and rescheduled with little to no impact to the league. It would have been interesting to see what the league would do if the two teams scheduled to play were playoff contenders.

Absolutely the wrong decision on the part of the NFL. Cancel the game until mid-week at least.

Whether to cancel game or not...it is a tough call....it is scary that we continue to find out what is hidden inside some folks via dramatic murder/suicides.......I really wish they would not post these stories here.....no matter how compassionate or sad one feels, it is very hard to relay that on here..
