09:42 AM ET 12.02 | This could change fast but the Rangers headed to Nashville favored to retain Josh Hamilton. Among the reasons they are loath to lose him -- since Hamilton joined the Rangers in 2008, they have a .565 winning percentage with him (359-276) and a .491 winning percentage when he doesn't play (86-89).

It Will Cost You, Bros.

That is a telling stat. But, I could see him walking, because Texas does not want to go long-term.

Reports out of Texas is the Rangers are holding firm at 3 years.

As well they should.

Hopefully Josh understands that he has no one to blame but himself. Without the baggage, he would be a shoo-in for a 5-8 year contract.

Ya think they will fold Otis?

The angels could sign him 6 years 150 millions deal.

The Rangers and Phillies are in the same boat both have let quality outfielders sign with other clubs so what other choice to they have but try and resign Hamilton.

Oops. Forgot to flip quarter to alacran.

actually- I think that if it were just his demons- he'd get those yearsbut the guy is ALWAYS hurt.and since he's already over 30...it only will get worse

In his five seasons with the Rangers, he has averaged only around 125 games per season. In addition, aside from a good series against the Yankees, he has completely disappeared in the postseason. I'd be very concerned about giving him a long-term deal.

Nope... I don't.

Nolan Ryan isn't the type of person to fold.

Love Nolan Ryan. He has made the Rangers consistently relevant. They'll be good for a while.

Or Boston. That kind of bogus deal is their signature move.
