Auburn, Southern Miss. open to hiring Bobby Petrino

What are the odds? For Auburn? For So. Miss?

What if Petrino reaches verbal agreement with So.Miss. while Auburn is accumulating no-thank-yous from every prospect they covet. Then, with no ink dry on a So.Miss. contract, BP takes the Auburn gig, leaving So.Miss. flapping in the breeze. Now, what are the odds of this happening?

I would say it could very well play out that way.

IMO, I think Petrino is carrying too much luggage and I believe that the NCAA is not done investigating Auburn.

I suspect that there will be more than these two schools willing to I interview Petrino.

It's really hard for me to imagine that, there isn't a better coach out there, than Petrino for Auburn!!!!

Ok, here's the list of teams looking for a HC that do NOT have Petrino on their list:

You're Arkansas, what the hell do you do other than football? You had a solid coach that made your team relevant. Granted, he messed up, but you shouldn't have thrown him under the bus.

Petrino had to be fired to prevent a major lawsuit. His girlfriend was hired because she was his girlfriend and everyone who applied for that "paying" position she had would have filed suit if he remained employed.

I think Purdue should hire this guy if they want to gain traction in the BIG 16.

The guy who coached Fresno State, Pat Hill did a good job. Why can't he get recycled? Colorado, Cal, ect.
