08:14 AM ET 12.03 | Soon, the dominoes will begin to fall, and at their center is Texas. On one hand, the Rangers are trying to re-sign free-agent outfielder Josh Hamilton and catcher/first baseman Mike Napoli. On the other hand, they're also engaged in active trade discussions for Arizona right fielder Justin Upton, according to major league sources. Same idea with starting pitching. On one hand, the Rangers are trying to sign free-agent right-hander Zack Greinke. On the other hand, they're also discussing trades for other top-of-the-rotation types, sources say. ... [Greinke] impressed Dodgers officials during a recent meeting with his baseball intellect, sources say. The sense in the industry is that if the Dodgers want Greinke, they'll get him.

the rangers have the money, the rangers have the right people at the front office,,and on the front seat their manager has been olmost untouchable ok??

December 3, 2012  11:03 AM ET

rangers should sign hamilton to a 3 years deal (60 millions)
then the team should sign napoli to a (5 years deal 100 millions contract) should be fair enough

December 3, 2012  11:05 AM ET

then rangers should trade top prospects for james shields and rookie archer, this two players would give the right spark to the texas starter rotation,,,

December 3, 2012  11:08 AM ET

the rangers should add top prospects for justin upton on d'backs demands,,,perhaps would be a too expensive trade for justin upton but the team's outfield would be a tough deffense to cross out!!!

December 3, 2012  11:10 AM ET

last resort for rangers and no justin upton in their roster?? then rangers should trade for willingham from the twins,,,,

December 3, 2012  11:11 AM ET

the rangers are to greedy when it has to do with LONG TERM CONTRACTS,, rangers should had signed napoli for 50 millions 3 years but that amount was a little too much for the rangers to said the least,,,,

December 3, 2012  08:21 PM ET

the red sox paid the small amount of 39 millions/ 3 years deal this contract its well balanced if you know what i mean,,,, the player would play 100 games next regular season and those 100 games would be played quarthely,, 25 games here then DL time, another 25 games there then DL time, another 25 games here and then DL time, by the end of the season the player would have completely played the 100 games lentgh,,,,
