The biggest challenge, at least immediately, though, is the lull. The BCS Era is littered with teams who peaked too early, lost their edge or over-prepared too late in the long layoff that ultimately cost them a shot at being national champions even before they took the field. "It's a one-game deal," Kelly said of his approach. "We're just trying to be better than Alabama on Monday, Jan. 7. ... So you understand, we don't want to be better than Alabama on the 27th of December." He even tapped the minds of the coaching staffs at LSU and Oregon for confirmation that his start-and-stop 15-practice schedule was on target.

Fear Factor.......Is now they have to play a real football team, Alabama will win this easily, could be one of the worst games on the bowl schedule. Alabama is not one of those cupcakes ND had on there schedule this year.
