Karl Malone rips La Tech in bowl fallout

08:16 AM ET 12.03 | Louisiana Tech's dream season came to an abrupt and somewhat controversial end over the weekend. The 9-3 Bulldogs are staying home for Christmas and New Year's, despite one of the best seasons in school history. Depending on who you believe, they were either snubbed or they turned down their only bowl offer. Whatever the true reason, they won't be playing again as a team. And everyone from players to coaches to alums is beyond upset. ... That sentiment is shared by famous Tech alum Karl Malone, who ripped his school on Twitter Sunday. "I am Bulldog to the core, I am heartbroken and embarrassed that our university would do this to Tech Nation," wrote the NBA Hall of Famer. "To our football and staff this ... is exactly what is wrong with our university."

Have your own bowl game with one of the other teams left out, jeepers, upset their whole nation, send them 10 folks a smiley card.

So what's the real story? Did they turn down a bowl offer, or were they snubbed? Going by the Mailman's reaction it looks they turned it down.

Yeah, what's the real story? Why would they turn down a bowl invite, were they getting greedy and looking higher, or what?

That's exactly;

moral, if you're not an AQ, take what they offer and go on

You want Clemson to win, then?

Bird-in-hand....something about a bush

It is a shame, really. GT should offer them their Bowl slot. Instead of a 6-7 middle-of-the-ACC school who have a weird offense, USC could face a 9-3 LA Tech team with an O with which the Trogs are more familiar.

Well, GT's seniors will enjoy the experience.

how is that a win for clemson....

They would not be facing LSU. Do this - Begin a alumni/fan petition for LSU to vacate their Bowl slot in favor of La Tech. It'd be big brotherly of LSU, and all of Les Tigres can stay home and watch CFB on TV.

They deserve to be ripped.

Well, Atlanta is happier than a pig in a poke that LSU is coming to town. They Luv LSU.

I was in downtown Atlanta when LSU was their for the Kick-Off classic versus UNC in 2010. That town was rockin'! Everybody loves LSU fans. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
