11:29 AM ET 12.03 | Despite reports to the contrary, Pittsburgh Steelersquarterback Ben Roethlisberger was not medically cleared to play against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. An earlier report from CBS Sports indicated that Roethlisberger was cleared to fully participate in practice, but this was not the case. The Post-Gazette reports that the Steelers knew early in the week that Charlie Batch would get the start against Baltimore. Roethlisberger sprained his shoulder and injured his ribs on Nov. 12 against the Kansas City Chiefs and has not played since then. It is possible he could return against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, Dec. 9.

The good news is Ben doesn't need to come back for the Steelers to beat the Chargers.

Rivers will complete more passes to Steelers than Ben would have anyway.

Anybody else see Charlie Batch take out a camera guy when throwing to a wide open receiver in the end zone ?

It would have been funny if it didn't cost them 4 points....Wallace probably would have dropped it anyhow...

It looked like Batch knocked the rust off yesterday, and the Chargers are tanking, so you are probably right.

Yeah, when he overthrew Wallace. That dude must have been focused on other players, because he had no idea that pass was coming his way, let alone coming straight for his head.

This is what Steelers fans dread, though... the games we're supposed to win easily. Somehow we always find a way to play to the level of our competition.

I'm not too worried, with our defense playing lights out we should be able to do just enough. But I'll admit I'd be hard pressed to lay down cash on the wire for this one.

He's a mental midget and we could take turns smashing his fat head with a hammer and he'd likely come out of the experience with a slightly higher IQ. Might even get him up into the 90 range.
