04:13 PM ET 12.03 | Hockey Canada announced earlier today the roster of players invited to the annual world junior selection camp. Among them are Toronto Maple Leafs' first-round draft pick Morgan Rielly. Rielly is considered to be as close to a lock to make the team as you can get. There are plenty of notable names on the list including Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jonathan Huberdeau and Dougie Hamilton (GULP). With the injury to Columbus Blue Jackets' first-round pick, Ryan Murray, many media members believe that Hamilton and Rielly will be side-by-side on the top defense pairing for Canada. The Maple Leafs will also be represented at the tournament by defense prospect Tom Nilsson. Nilsson will be expected to play tough minutes for team Sweden as they will be without their top blue liners Jonas Brodin and Oscar Klefbom.

Thanks for the reminder HC...isn't the whole thing still up in the air as many people think the WHL has reacted much too quickly and way to harshly?
Guess the WHL commish is using Roger Goodell as his role model!

I don't get that. There were no violations in regard to monetary payments, only a couple of free flights for parents and a cell phone for the team captain. What's up with that? The commish on a power trip?

I never thought I would see the Maple Leafs and the word 'championship' in the same sentence.

From what i understand the only appeal process the league has is to appeal the decision to the same Commish that nuked em in the first place ???

Potland has been granted a meeting with WHL BOG to appeal their case. Who knows where that will go but probably won't get much sympathy from teams they compete against
