07:15 AM ET 01.24 | Dolphins General Manager Jeff Ireland might as well have put the No. 1 pick in this year's NFL draft on eBay. When asked by the NFL Network about the team's approach with the top selection, Ireland said: "We're open for business." Minutes later, he backed up his willingness to deal the pick by pointing out the 1-15 team he inherited has many needs. Unfortunately for the Dolphins this isn't a buyer's market.

After seeing the ridiculous amount of money last years #1 made without proving a thing in the NFL I wouldn't want the first pick either.

January 24, 2008  07:20 AM ET

Hell they owe us that pick for raping our coaching staff! They need to change their name to "The South Beach Cowboys"!

January 24, 2008  07:24 AM ET

#1 picks are salary cap busters nowadays, I'd lose it too.

January 24, 2008  07:34 AM ET

They need players who can help the team immediately, and a #1 pick isn't always ready to contribute right away. If they can get a very effective roster player, or a star(ish) player for that pick, then they'll have already improved the team's roster. Its the right thing to do

#1 picks rarely help a team that has more holes than a brick of swiss cheese.

cowboystar are u crazy? Your team bent the vikings over a barrel and won 3 super bowls becuz of herschel walker. If the vikings werent so inept, the cowsissies would have been 1-15 for the next 10 years. all becuz of 1 trade. Maybe now your team is showing its ineptness. And remember, that long hair dont hide that redneck boy

wonder what the cowboys will trade for that pick.

Boys look like they need a running back if Jones wants out..

January 24, 2008  08:25 AM ET

And the Dolphins have Ronnie Brown who was leading the league in rushing before going down.

Shouldn't that read: "Unfortunately for the Dolphins this isn't a *sellers* market?"

January 24, 2008  08:56 AM ET

Ah, hello KP. Ever heard of Barber?

January 24, 2008  09:11 AM ET

Is this Dorsey worth is girth?

January 24, 2008  10:39 AM ET

Sell, sell, sell

January 24, 2008  11:30 AM ET

If I was Jerry Jones, I would trade J. Jones, the two first round picks Dallas has in the draft, and go after McFadden. The only real need Dallas has, is to build depth at w.r., and O-line.
